2025 celebrates the 167th year of the Washington County Fair. As the largest event in Washington County, boasting over 75,000 attendees annually, the Fair draws attendance from not only Washington County but also surrounding counties, the Fox Valley, and the Southern Milwaukee-Illinois I-94 corridor.
The 6-day festival offers incredible food, shopping, and fun! Event scheduling includes three nights of national music, agricultural, equestrian competitions, and exhibitions. You will not want to miss these mainstay attractions:
Ag Adventureland, livestock auction, carnival, tractor pull, fireworks, and over 50 shows during this unforgettable event.
Since moving to the current location in 1999, the Washington County Fair has played host to many national musical artists over the decades. Many chart-topping artists have played the Fair as their careers were launching.
The Silver Lining Amphitheater shows are free with general admission tickets. Limited reserved seat tickets are available for purchase through our ticketing link.
In November of 1855, an ad hoc committee gathered in Hartford to take the first steps toward organizing an agricultural society. The first fair was organized in 1858.
The Fair moved to a new 25-acre tract of land in the northeastern part of West Bend near the location of the current Washington County Courthouse. The Fair was held in September each year and lasted for three days. Approximately 10,000 people attended the Fair annually.
During the Great Depression, the Society met with financial difficulties, and the buildings and grounds were sold at a foreclosure sale. However, there still was a desire to hold a County Fair and in May 1938, assets were turned over to the Washington County Board. A Fair Committee was appointed, and in August 1938, a Fair was held on the Highway Department grounds in Slinger. This was deemed a temporary site.
Attendance estimates were near 30,000, and an additional 21 tents were put up to accommodate exhibits. The process for developing a new fair facility was an ongoing attempt for over 45 years.
The Fair Centennial was celebrated at the Slinger location.
The Washington County Fair opens, amidst pouring rain, at 3000 Pleasant Valley Road in the Town of Polk.
